On Thursday, 3 November 2022, at around 8:00 A.M., Civil Administration personnel came with a military and Border Police escort and a bulldozer to the community of ‘Arab al-Fureijat in Hebron District. On Thursday, 27 October 2022, at around 9:00 A.M., Civil Administration personnel arrived at the community of Khirbet Humsah al-Foqa in the northern Jordan Valley with a military escort. The forces handed six families with a total of 41 members, including 27 minors, orders to evacuate their homes for four days, on 1-3 November and on 9 November, between the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., to make way for military training near their homes.
Military training in the communities’ territory is a deliberate harassment of their residents in an attempt to drive them out of the area. The last evacuation of community residents on the pretext of training occurred in July 2022.
The training eventually took place at a large distance from the community, and since only the men who take care of the flock remain in the community during this season, they just removed the flock from it.

Israel’s regime of apartheid and occupation is inextricably bound up in human rights violations. B’Tselem strives to end this regime, as that is the only way forward to a future in which human rights, democracy, liberty and equality are ensured to all people, both Palestinian and Israeli, living between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.
Since the Hamas attack on 7 October 2023, Israel has acted in a coordinated and deliberate manner to destroy Palestinian society in the Gaza Strip, committing genocide against its residents. In light of Israel’s actions in Gaza, the public statements made by Israeli decision-makers, and the international community’s failure to take effective action, there is a serious risk that the Israeli regime will expand the genocide to other areas under its control—first and foremost, the West Bank.
B’Tselem calls on the Israeli public and the international community to use every tool available under international law to bring an immediate end to Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people.
