Khirbet Susiya, South Hebron Hills: Settlers grazed flock in olive grove, soldiers refused to remove them

On Wednesday, 22 October 2025, at around 11:00 A.M., a settler arrived with a herd of cows near a grove close to the home of Hamdah Bilal, a 67-year-old widow, broke through a section of the fence about seven meters long and grazed the cows in the grove, which has olive and other trees.

At 4:00 P.M., the settler returned to the area with two other settlers and a flock of sheep, and they grazed the flock near the house, causing damage to trees and flowers.

Residents called the police, but only masked soldiers arrived and told the residents that settlers were allowed to be in the area. Shortly afterward, the soldiers left, followed later by the settlers.

That same day, at 10:00 P.M., four settlers came to the home of Ahmad Nawaj’ah, 40, cut the fence and threw stones at the family members, who ran inside and locked the doors. The settlers broke into the kitchen, which is in a separate structure adjacent to the house, tore out the door, and smashed and destroyed its contents.

It was only after some local residents arrived that the settlers ran away toward the settlement of Susiya. Later, police arrived, but they only patrolled the area and left
