On Wednesday, 24 July 2024, at around 10:30 P.M., about 30 settlers, some of them masked and carrying firearms, clubs and slingshots, arrived at the segment of Route 60 that runs through the center of the town of Huwarah, with a military escort. The settlers attacked two houses, smashing the glass panes of about 13 windows, glass railings in three porches, as well as windows and outdoor lighting in about five businesses. The settlers also smashed the windows of four cars that were parked on the street and set fire to four others. They also torched weeds in the spaces between some homes and a storage shed and stole a bicycle. The soldiers escorting them did nothing. The settlers left about two hours later, only after Border Police and Special Patrol Unit jeeps arrived along with DCO cars.
