Soldiers detain developmentally disabled child, Hebron, Oct. 2014
21 October 2014
On 19 Oct. 2014 soldiers briefly detain developmentally disabled Palestinian boy. A-Rajbi is a month shy of 12, the age of criminal responsibility. Detained after Palestinian children threw stones at soldiers in Jabel Johar, Hebron, near the settlement of Kiryat Arba, he was handcuffed, blindfolded and held on the floor of a jeep for approx. 15 minutes until his father came and convinced the soldiers of his son’s disabilities. Footage by B’Tselem camera volunteer Samih Da’na: 1) Soldiers handcuff and blindfold a-Rajbi despite cries by locals that he is developmentally disabled. 2) Settlers look on from behind Kiryat Arba’s fence. Some cheer; others make racist remarks.
